We are always looking for volunteers, e.g. in the following areas:

 

1.) URI Europe Treasurer

This is a position on the URI Europe board. It is a long term position with the responsibility to provide oversight of the URI Europe finances.

We are looking for a person from Belgium or its vicinity, preferably a pensioner, who feels at ease working with figures.

A good command of English is important, as well as some experience in book-keeping and/or accounting.

Professional background in this field is not a must, but it is a plus. Flemish/Dutch language skills are of advantage.

The URI Europe treasurer works with the support of an accountant, in a team with the President and Co-ordinator.

 

Tasks:

  • Check incoming invoices and authorize payments (together with a second person, usually the President),
  • provide a financial overview at board meetings (4-5 times a year),
  • prepare and supervise mid year and end year reports to URI global with the help of accountant and/or Co-ordinator,
  • prepare yearly budgets in co-operation with President and Co-ordinator,
  • handle payments and reimbursements for URI Europe conferences (every 2-3 years).

Time commitment:

  • 4-5 one-day board meetings per year, mostly in Brussels,
  • approx. 1 international conference in 1-2 years,
  • 2-3 hours per week on average (this can vary, it can be more or less during specific times, according to needs).

2.) Volunteer for publication of Book about European URI Co-operation Circles' work

We plan to edit a book, introducing European URI Co-operation Circles.

We need help in compiling the information, which will be organized on the basis of a questionnaire, editing it, chosing pictures etc.

Skills needed: good English skills, Word, good communication skills, self starting and persistent.

 

 

3.) Assistant for URI Europe Dialogue Letter

The URI Europe Dialogue Letter is a newsletter about the work of URI Co-operation Circles in Europe.

The aim is to publish it 2-4 times a year.

We are looking for person who would like to get involved in putting it together.

Good English skills are important.

Editing and lay-out-skills, particularly web based would be helpful.
